2) Sourav Ganguly, the BCCI president, has taken over from Anil Kumble as the new chairman of the ICC Cricket Council, the governing body confirmed. Kumble, who took over in 2012, has served the three separate three-year-terms.

3) Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Shri Parshottam Rupala inaugurated the country’s first-of-its kind, dedicated business incubator to be known as LINAC- NCDC Fisheries Business Incubation Centre (LlFlC) in Haryana’s Gurugram.


4) The Union Cabinet approved provisioning of mobile services in over 7,000 uncovered villages across five States of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Maharashtra and Odisha at an estimated cost of ₹6,466 crore.

6) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated arms exhibition at the ‘Rashtra Raksha Samarpan Parv’ in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh on November 17. 

➨The three-day ‘Rashtra Raksha Samarpan Parv’ commenced yesterday and will culminate with the participation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 19.

8) The ‘Thooya Tamizh Patralar’ award instituted by the Tamilnadu government to honour those who use pure Tamil in daily life, was conferred on an 18-year-old government arts college student from Melur in Madurai.


9) Noted Hindi novelist Mannu Bhandari, famous for her novels 'Aapki Banti' and 'Mahabhoj', died here. She was 90.


10) Global wealth tripled over the last two decades, with China leading the way and overtaking the US for the top spot worldwide.

➨The Purvanchal Expressway will connect the state capital, Lucknow to Ghazipur and will reduce the travel time from 6 hours to 3.5 hours.

13) Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying Shri Parshottam Rupala launched a "Nationwide AHDF KCC Campaign".
