1) Madhya Pradesh government launched the National Education Policy-2020 (NEP-2020) in the state and became the second state in the country to implement NEP-2020 after Karnataka.

2) To celebrate second anniversary of Fit India Movement and as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur launched the Fit India Mobile Application at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, New Delhi on National Sports Day.


3) In a bid to assist unemployed youth in the state, the Captain Amarinder Singh-led Punjab government gave a nod to a new project, Mera Kaam Mera Maan (MKMM). 

➨ The scheme aims at empowering the unemployed youth by improving their skillset and aptitude to find jobs easily in the preferred domains.


4) Uttrakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted an on-site inspection of Sahastradhara-Maldevta road, which had caved in as a river submerged it following a rise in water level of the river triggered by heavy rains.

➨ The Chief Minister directed the District Magistrate Dehradun R Rajesh Kumar to channelize the river and get the damaged part of the road repaired at the earliest.

5) The Sahitya Akademi named authors Yashodhara Mishra and Omcherry N.N. Pillai as the winners of the 2020 awards for their works in Odia and Malayalam, respectively.


6) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin announced welfare measures worth Rs 317.40 crore for Sri Lankan Tamil refugees living in special camps in the state.

9) India's NCERT, Microsoft and its global training partner Tech Avant-Garde (TAG) have joined hands to usher in Digital Transformation in Education and to empower the most important stakeholders of education - School Teachers.

➨ The Hybrid Learning training workshop for teachers will be conducted over a period of five days from 30th August 2021 to 3rd September 2021 for one hour each day .


10) Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the renovated complex of Jallianwala Bagh Smarak to the nation through video conferencing. The Prime Minister also inaugurated museum galleries developed at the Smarak.


➨A wreath-laying ceremony was held and a two-minute silence observed in the memory of martyrs of the Jallianwala massacre.


11) Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Thakur inaugurated and addressed the first India-Brazil-South Africa (IBSA) Youth Summit through video conferencing.


12) The Ministry of Jal Shakti started 'SUJALAM', a 100-day campaign to create more and more open defecation free (ODF) villages across the country.

➨The 'SUJALAM' campaign would help in management of the waste water which in turn would help to revive the water bodies.
